Gas City has been a tough track for Chad over the years. Not ever being able to put a good finish together until Indiana Sprint Week in 2011 when he brought his personally owned 98 to a 6th place finish. Trying their luck several times following that run, the mid pack finishes kept coming but it was not what they were hunting for.
In just the third race of the 2013 season at Gas City, Chad and his new team pulled together Chad's first win at the infamous Gas City I-69 Speedway. The track was great, having a top and bottom grove. Chad started in the 4th position in the A main behind AJ Hopkins who was on the pole, Scotty Weir outside front row and Landon Simon just to Chad's inside. At the start Chad jumped to the top and by lap 4 took the lead from Scotty Weir and never looked back from there pounding the cushion lap after lap after lap. Putting the Paul Hazen Racing, Physical Medicine Consultants, Buds Auto Sales, K&N Air Filters, Bell Helmets, Hinchman Uniforms, ButlerBuilt Seats, Midwest Shades, Kercher Powered, DRC Chassis #57 in the winners circle for Chad and Paul's first win together.
