PETERSEN MEDIA- 2013 Indiana Sprintweek did not come to a close how Chad Boespflug had hoped. Work held him out of action at the Terre Haute Action Track, and Mother Nature washed out the last night of competition, and sandwiched in between those were an eight place finish and unfortunately a DNQ.
“It wasn’t the week that we had hoped for, but I have to thank the Fox Brother’s, as well as Paul Hazen for giving me a chance to compete,” Boespflug said.
With work holding him from competing at THAT on Wednesday night, Boespflug and Paul Hazen were in action on Thursday night at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN, where he started his night off by timing in 18th fastest.
Picking up the heat race win, the Avon, IN pilot was able to transfer into the feature event, though he found him in the eighth row.
Driving a smart, and clean race, Boespflug was able to carve his way inside the top-10, as he crossed the finish line in the eighth spot.
Hopping into the Fox Brother’s Racing No. 56 on Friday night at the Bloomington Speedway, Boespflug didn’t have the night he was hoping for with the new team.
A very early draw for qualifications did not help, as being the first car on the track, as he timed in 19thquickest.
Heat race action saw the pole sitter get into Boespflug’s left rear tire, and that gave him a handful to work with, and he was unable to run in a transfer spot, and found himself starting deep in the B main.
Lining up in the fourth row of the B, Boespflug tried to do anything he could on a tough track to pass on, but was unable to make the show, ultimately ending his Sprintweek, as Mother Nature claimed Saturday night’s show.
“It is a bummer the way that our week ended, but it was fun, and like I said, I can’t thank all of the people that helped us out for what they do,” he said. “Looking forward to getting back to work this weekend.”
ON TAP: Boespflug will be in action for three night’s this weekend as he will look to reclaim his points lead at the I 69 Speedway in Gas City, IN on Friday before heading to Putnamville, IN on Saturday for the Putnamville Clash, and finally spending his Sunday at the Kokomo Speedway for the Bob Darland Memorial!
