PETERSEN MEDIA- With rain washing Friday night out across the state of Indiana, Chad Boespflug and his Paul Hazen team saw their weekend shortened to two nights, but they made them count as Boespflug picked up a fourth place finish at Lincoln Park Speedway before a seventh place finish against the always stout Kokomo field.
Lining up on the outside front row of his heat race on Saturday night in Putnamville, IN, Boespflug got off to a great start aboard the Physical Consultants/K&N/Weld Wheels backed machine, and took the win, putting him in the feature event inversion.
Lining up in the second row of the main, Boespflug got off to a sluggish start though he held his spot in fourth.
With the track seemingly ‘coming back’, Boespflug began fighting a tight machine, and wasn’t able to get going, and find the drive he was looking for, as he held on to a fourth place finish.
Sunday night at the Kokomo Speedway, Boespflug timed in second fastest in group qualifying, and lined up on the inside second row of his heat race.
Jumping into the second spot when the green light’s flashed, Boespflug stormed to the lead on the second lap, and never looked back as he picked up the win, and earned a spot in the redraw.
Lining up in the third spot in the feature event, Boespflug held strong in the third spot, as he ripped around the always exciting speedway until the caution flag flew with just a few laps remaining.
Going to the top of the speedway on the restart, a car in front of Boespflug got over the cushion, and sideways causing Boespflug to check up, and in doing so he lost a bit of track position, and found himself in the seventh spot, where he would go on to finish.
“Overall it really was a good weekend for our team,” he said. “We don’t have some of the equipment some of these other teams have, but we certainly make do with what we do have. Paul and everyone works so hard on this deal weekly, and were right there, so hopefully we can pick up some more wins as he keep racing.”
Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.
