Amsoil USAC Indiana Sprint Week Recap

Plainfield, IN - Friday July 10th kicked off Amsoil USAC Indiana Sprint Week 2015. A week comprised of 7 races in just 9 days. A prestigious week in non wing sprint car racing that draws teams from across the country. Chad and the Amati Racing Team started the week out on top setting quick time in both hot laps, followed by quick time in qualifying during Night 1 at Gas City Speedway. Qualifying was a strong point throughout the remainder of the week. A strong field of drivers from across the country hosted a field averaging 40 plus cars a night. Chad qualified in the top 5 four out of the seven nights and within the heat race inversion the other three. A good time trial lap is key with USAC format as they revert to qualification times throughout the duration of each event.

However with USAC format a good qualifying time also means you will start deeper in your heat race. This didn't seem to inhibit Chad as the Amati Team prepared a car capable of qualifying as well as racing its way through a tough heat race. Chad posted a heat race win, two second place heat race finishes, and four third place heat race finishes transferring the Amati Racing, Inc. #66 into the AMain each night without having to compete in a BMain.

A pair of top 5 AMain finishes, a 13th, a 18th, a DNF, and 2 rain outs earned Chad and Car Owner, Shane Wade an 8th place finish in Amsoil USAC Indiana Sprint Week Points. The DNF at Lincoln Park Speedway saw Chad as a victim of circumstance. Chad was in 6th when a car spun in front of him and with no where to go he suffered front end damage that was unrepairable in the allotted work area time. Both rain out events Chad was scheduled to start inside the top 5. Both Kokomo Speedway and Bloomington Speedway's events fell short to rain just before the feature events. Chad and the entire Amati Team felt if they had been able to compete in both of those events they would have finished in the top 5 in ISW points. Both nights that were rained out they felt they had a car competitive to finish on the podium, if not win.

Chad expressed his thoughts about how ISW went, "Plenty to be proud of with the Amati Racing Inc Team. We raced our way in to every Sprint Week A Main through our heat race. Unfortunately the nights we would have started up front we got rained out. Can't thank the guys that worked so hard to make this entire week go so well. Donnie Gentry had the car on kill all through the night and we have a lot to build on. Ethan Barrow, Gerald Parks, and Charlie worked their tails off to keep us going and have a car ready to win every night. And Shane Wade gave us all the tools we needed. I am really proud to be driving the Amati 66 and can't wait for what's to come."

The team will be back in action this weekend for the Putnamville Clash at Lincoln Park Speedway and the Bob Darland Memorial at Kokomo Speedway. Both events are part of the Indiana Sprint Car Series Events that will be televised for MAVtv at a later date.
