Boespflug Kicked Off the Indiana Season in Southern Indiana

Plainfield, IN-  Saturday kicked off the start of the Indiana non wing sprint car season with the No Way Out 40 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN. Chad Boespflug returned to Brownstown for the first time since March of 2014 this weekend. Boespflug and the NineEight Motorsports /EZR team built another car after returning from Winter Dirt Games, Saturday was the first night out with it.

A field of 38 cars were divided into four qualifying groups with each car given one time trial lap against their qualifying group. Boespflug timed third quick in group two. Heat races were lined up heads up from qualifying. Boespflug started third and fell back one position finishing 4th. A fourth place finish in a heat race was enough to advance into the 40 lap AMain. Boespflug lined up 14th for the start of the AMain. He quickly advanced to the 9th position before missing the grove and slightly running off the bank in turn four. Boespflug fell back loosing some ground, but was able to regain a few positions settling into 12th place before the checkered flag waved.

The main goal for Saturday was to make gains with the newly built car, which Boespflug and the team feel they did. The team will take what they learned from this night of local racing at Brownstown Speedway and apply it when they return with the Amsoil USAC National series in May. Boespflug will be back in action Saturday April 2nd at Lawrenceburg Speedway as the Amsoil USAC National Series makes it first trip of the season to The Burg.
