Boespflug Secures a Ride in the 2015 Chili Bowl Nationals

Plainfield, IN— December 9th, 2014Confirmed earlier this week, Chad Boespflug is pleased to announce he will pilot the Bill Ecker Owned R.A.B. Racing #57 midget for the second consecutive year at the 2015 Chili Bowl Nationals.

The opportunity to return behind the wheel of a midget and compete with the best across the world in midget competition at the most prestigious race of the year for them is an opportunity you can’t pass up. Boespflug quickly replied yes when he was asked to return with R.A.B. Racing again this year.

Boespflug is looking forward to the competing at the Tulsa Expo Center for the 29th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire January 12th-17th.  2014 was Boespflug’s first appearance at the Chili Bowl and first ever laps in a midget as well. He did add a few more laps in a midget over the summer when he raced for Ecker at Lawrenceburg and Kokomo during USAC Midget Week. The driver / owner personalities clicked last year when they first met in Tulsa and have formed a relationship throughout 2014. Both parties are excited to return to Tulsa again this January.

Competition will begin Monday January 12th, 2015 with practice, followed by preliminary competition in hopes to transfer to Saturday’s A-Main. The duo had success last year making it to the A-Main on their preliminary night and then going on to transfer to the C-Main in Saturday’s competition. The two were very pleased with their successes together and look forward to capitalizing on those when they meet again in January.

Chad Boespflug Announces Full USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Ride in 2015

Plainfield, IN— December 1, 2014Confirmed Today, Chad Boespflug is pleased to announce he will pilot the Baldwin Brothers Racing, Fox Paving, DRC chassis, Claxton Engines, #5 machine for the full USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Schedule in 2015.

The opportunity arose to make the move to further himself as a driver and to have the option to compete in the 40+ USAC Schedule as well as on the local Indiana level in 2015.  “Paul and I had huge success in the past two seasons, winning multiple races each season and I think together we got Paul back to his winning ways.” Boespflug said. The Paul Hazen Owned #57 which Boespflug drove successfully in 2013-2014 to a combined 13 feature wins.  “However when I was asked to race more and on a higher level with Baldwin Brothers Racing I had to go this route to further my career. Boespflug is looking forward to the opportunities that lie within the Baldwin Brothers Racing Organization. The Team will make their 2015 debut February 19th, 2015 with USAC at Ocala Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.

There really is no “off-season” in nonwing sprint car racing on a national level. There is preparation to be made at the West Lafayette, IN based shop in the short time before heading south, as the team is already in the process of building new race cars. “I feel we will be strong and a contender for the USAC National Championship, but with that comes dedication and hard work put in by everyone involved.” Boespflug said, “Kenny and Margo are both very hands on with their race team and put 100% into it and I intend to give that back to them as well.” The new Owner / Driver duo have clicked right off the bat in the few races they competed with each other at the end of the 2014 season. Baldwin Brothers Racing is actively seeking a full time mechanic to add to their “Championship Status” team.

Aside from the full USAC schedule, and the select MSCS Series races, Boespflug and Baldwin Brothers Racing will appear at various local events throughout the 2015 season.

Boespflug is honored to bring his loyal sponsors back on board with him as he makes the move to Baldwin Brothers Racing in 2015. Boespflug West Coast Recap

Perris Auto Speedway Nov 7-8 / Canyon Speedway Park Nov 14-15

Chad and the Team have made their way back home after a two week stay on the west coast. From Perris to Canyon the Team grew together working the kinks out along the way. Ending Perris with a strong run winning the Hard Charger Award taking that momentum into night 1 at Canyon for the Hall of Fame classic. Fast out of the gate at Canyon Chad laid down a solid time trial lap qualifying 3rd quick overall. Failing to qualify through the heat with little passing he raced his way through the BMain transferring to the AMain and going on to finish in the Top 10 Friday. Night 2 saw another Top 10 finish in sight as well, but a late race incident involving Chad getting into the back of another car caused there night to end short.

Can't thank Kenny and Margo Baldwin enough for the opportunity to make these final USAC races to finish out the 2014 Season. It all wouldn't have been possible without the help of Fred Click and Ray Kenens throughout the entire trip from start to finish.

With the help of Baldwin Brothers Racing, Fox Paving, Claxton Engines, DRC Chassis, Hinchman Racewear, Bell Racing Helmets, FK Indy, Midwest Shades, Hinkles Hamburgers, Creative Finishings, Manvel Motorsports, The Dalton Luebbert Groups, Revved Up Industries, and Indy Race Parts this trip was made possible. Thank you for all the support!

Boespflug Oval Nationals Recap

Oval Nationals November 7-8 / Perris Auto Speedway / Perris, California

The Team started off a little rocky Friday night with some minor issues putting them behind early. The hard work and effort put out from Freddy, Ray, and Donnie all weekend kept the moral high which is what they needed. Saturday they improved on the track but still needed a little more in qualifying early. Combined points saw Chad starting 22nd in the AMain. He worked his way forward lap after lap finishing 10th. Chad was awarded the Tony Jones Hard Charger Award for his success after starting so deep. Chad qualifying for the AMain both nights is an accomplishment in itself given the number of competitive cars that didn't.

Thank you Kenny & Margo Baldwin for the opportunity to travel to The PAS.

Thank you to all of Chad& the Baldwin Brother Racing Sponsors and Supporters:
Fox Paving, Claxton Engines, DRC Chassis, Hinchman Racewear, Bell Racing Helmets, FK Indy, Midwest Shades, Hinkles Hamburgers, Creative Finishings, Manvel Motorsports, Revved Up Industries, and Indy Race Parts.

Boespflug to Head Out West

Confirmed early this week Chad will be finishing out the remainder of the USAC Schedule in the Baldwin Brothers 5. With one show remaining in Indiana before gearing up to go out West. The next event will be the ...$10,000 to Win Fall Nationals at Lawrenceburg Speedway this upcoming Saturday. Chad has had a lot of success in the six years of racing in Indiana at The Burg. Including capturing the 2011 Track Championship. Although he has made the trip to victory lane there quite a few times and has had consistent results there he has yet to win a USAC race at The Burg. Going into Saturday’s race he has his sights set on changing that and taking home the last USAC check to be written in Indiana this year.

The goal is to build momentum and confidence working with the Baldwin Brothers race team in these few weeks left in Indiana, to head into the remainder of the season on the West Coast. With the help of Kenny & Margo Baldwin, Claxton Engines, DRC Chassis, and Fox Paving the plan is to make the trip out west the beginning of November.

Perris Auto Speedway for the Oval Nationals is the first stop of the journey West. The two day event is a historic race that Chad has competed in before but it has been 8 years since he was last in attendance. Chad does have 1 quick time award to his name from Perris Auto Speedway, coming back from 2006, and many heat race wins, but has yet to claim a feature event win at The PAS.

Heading back “Home” as he calls it, is always a highlight in his season. Rides and opportunities are few and far between to race on the West Coast for most of the teams that fill their schedules primarily in the Mid-West. Chad is very thankful that Kenny and Margo Baldwin have given him the opportunity to not only return to Oval Nationals but to finish out the year in Arizona with the final USAC event as well.

They will conclude the 2014 Season at Canyon Speedway Park for the two day 14th Annual USAC Hose Advantage Hall of Fame Classic. Chad last competed at Canyon during last year’s USAC 360 Western Worlds where he scored a podium finish, finishing 3rd in the event.

Thank you to all of Chad's continued supporters and those that help keep me safe every time he straps into a racecar:
Bell Racing, Butlerbuilt Seats, Creative Finishing's, FK Indy, Hinchman Racewear, Indy Race Parts, Manvel Motorsports, Midwest Shades, Shaws, Revved Up Industries.

Kokomo Smackdown III Recap

Night 1:
Motor trouble from the get go had Chad and the Team thrashing to determine the problem causing them to fall behind from the beginning of the night. After the conclusion of Time Trials Chad had a good enough lap for the Heat Race Invert but was forced to scratch from the event prior to the rain as the motor problem couldn't be fixed the track.

The reminder of Night 1 was resumed Saturday afternoon where Chad was able to tag the tail of the BMain and try and race his way into the AMain. He did just that with a determined mindset he was able to qualify through the BMain to start on the tail of the AMain. Still battling motor troubles throughout the AMain he finished 16th.

Night 2:
Timing 25th overall Chad missed the Heat Race Invert. Started and finished 7th in the Heat not qualifying to the AMain. Lined up 9th for the BMain and carried momentum to finish 3rd transferring to the AMain. He was on the move and running 12th after starting 22nd Chad slows on the front stretch. Another unfortunate end to the night after running strong to charging from deep. Yet again seemed to be something wrong under the hood as he went pit side just after half way.

Night 3:
Struggling with motor issues again for the third night in a row Chad didn't finish well in the Heat Race that was lined up by accumulative points from Night 1 & 2. As a result he was forced to try and transfer through the BMain. After starting 7th in the BMain he quickly gained ground on the leaders and passed them clean by halfway holding on to take the BMain Win.

Chad finishes 12th from 18th in the AMain and clenches the Spire Sports + Entertainment "Passing Master" Award for the Weekend and an extra $500 by passing 30 cars!

He also picked up the USAC Hard Charger Award for Saturday's Smackdown Finale 40 lap AMain. In addition to those accomplishment Chad also won the GoPro BMain Winner Award of a new GoPro.

Despite the motor troubles that put them behind all weekend Chad qualified into all 3 AMains.

As Legendary Car Owner Paul Hazen received the Inaugural Bill Gardner "True Grit" Award for his determination and fight throughout the entire weekend battling motor troubles. What an honor for USAC to acknowledge Paul's and the entire Team's efforts all weekend.

Another Podium Finish For The 57

With no racing scheduled for Friday Chad and fellow non-wing racers Casey Shuman, and Lee Dakus were able to take a small road trip to Knoxville, Iowa to spectate the Historic Knoxville Nationals. This was Chad's second time attending the historic race, but his first trip he a crew member and this time he was able to enjoy and just be a Fan!

He returned to Indiana Saturday morning to compete in the $3,000 to WIN MSCS event at Lincoln Park Speedway. Passing Points from Heat Races are accumulated and then tallied to up. Once tallied if the driver is within the top 6 in pts they redraw for their starting positions in the AMain.

Chad charged to a Heat Race Win from an eighth place starting position to earn him the most passing points overall out of 44 cars. Redraw put him starting 5th in the AMain.

Chad raced into the second position following leader Brady Short by lap 10. He had a good race car but struggled to get the momentum to catch Short. Chad commented that the motor still wasn't quite up to par all night and they fought not having the horsepower with the race going straight through with no cautions. Resulting in a 3rd place finish as Robert Ballou passed by him with 2 togo.

"Had a super strong race car early and would have one til the end but motor just wasn't running right. Really believe we could have had a chance at my first MSCS win." - Chad's reflection of the night.

The Boespflug / Hazen Duo Pick Up Lucky #7 Friday

Chad picks up Win #7 in The Hazen 57 tonight and Win # 2 of the year at Gas City Speedway! Jumping out to the lead early helped Chad navigate through lap traffic as Robert Ballou pressured him from behind.

Chad and Paul have struggled with motor trouble the past few weeks. Kercher Engines along with Paul were able to get a power plant back under the hood for them in time to race tonight.

Special thanks to Paul, Marion, Jess & JR for their hard work at the track.

Thank you Paul Hazen Racing, Buds Auto Sales, Kercher Engines, K&N, Physical Medical Consultants, Cullignans, Geiger Seamless Gutters, DRC Chassis, Hinchman, FK Indy, Bell Racing, Butlerbuilt, Midwest Shades, Indy Race Parts, American Racer for your continued support

Boespflug Continues Hot Streak Picking Up Win No. 6 July 8th

July 8th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Chad Boespflug continues to be dominant at the Lincoln Park Speedway as he picked up his sixth win of the season on Saturday night just one night after finishing seventh with the USAC National Sprint Car Series.

“It was a great weekend for this team, again,” Boespflug said. “The track was a little funky on Friday, but we are really happy with how we ran with the USAC guys and are really happy with another win.”

Saturday night saw Boespflug line up on the front row of his heat race, where he then promptly jumped out into the lead and never looked back as he picked up the win, and moved into the feature event.

Finding himself on the front row of the feature event, Boespflug quickly jumped out to the early lead as he took a liking to the top of the speedway.

Though the feature was marred with numerous cautions, and restarts, Boespflug was stout on each restart, as he led from green to checkered, picking up his sixth win of the season.

Friday night with the USAC National Sprint Cars invading the Lincoln Park Speedway, Boespflug got off to a very strong start as he timed in second fastest, before scoring a fifth place finish in his heat race.

Lining up fifth for the feature event, the track on this night saw everyone fight for real estate on the bottom of the speedway.

With the bottom being quite congested, the Hanford, CA native tried to make the top work, and as he tried to clean it off, it did not work out for him, and he opted to get back in line on the bottom of the speedway.

Passing was at an extreme premium on this night, and he finished in the seventh spot.

“It was a great weekend leading us to Indiana Sprint Week,” Boespflug said. “Last year we were hot going into this week and kind of struggled, so hopefully we can put together a nice week.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-36, Wins-6, Top 5’s-16, Top 10’s-19

Boespflug In A Zone; Scores Two More Wins June 30th

June 30th

PETERSEN MEDIA- It’s simple, really. Chad Boespflug is in a zone right now, and over the last week, the Plainfield, IN resident picked up two more feature event wins, pushing his season total to five, and charged from 11th to third at the ultra competitive Kokomo Speedway on Sunday night.

“The whole team is really clicking right now, and I am hoping we can keep this run going,” Boespflug said.

After picking up a win last Saturday night at the Lincoln Park Speedway, Boespflug and his Hazen Motorsports team headed to the Plymouth Speedway on Wednesday night.

Lining up second in his heat race, the Hanford, CA native took off when the green flag dropped and raced his way to the heat race, win putting the Physical Medical Consultants/Midwest Shades/K&N entry in the feature event.

By way of his bow and arrow skills, Boespflug earned the third starting spot for the 30-lap feature event, and quickly showed that he had a very strong racecar.

Getting into the second spot, Boespflug quickly began battling with race leader, Robert Ballou, as he was patient, and didn’t try to force his issued.

The last 10-laps saw the action heat up as Ballou and Boespflug began swapping the top spot, and with five to go, Boespflug was able to grab the lead, which he would not relinquish, en route to his fourth win of the 2014 season.

With Mother Nature finally allowing a Friday night race to take place at the I 69 Speedway in Gas City, IN, Boespflug kept his momentum going as he was the quick time qualifier of his heat race group.

Finishing third in his heat, ‘The Hanford Hornet’, found himself on the pole for the 25-lap main event, and he simply took advantage of the prime starting pot.

Jumping out to the early lead, Boespflug was strong as he turned in some great, fast laps.

Well in control late in the race, Boespflug suddenly felt some pressure from a familiar foe, and that being Robert Ballou.

With Ballou trying to reverse roles on Boespflug from Wednesday night, Boespflug held tough up front as he went on to pick up third win in-a-row, and fifth overall on the season.

Sunday night saw the team check into the Kokomo Speedway, and Boespflug again stopped the clock fastest in his qualifying group putting him in the second row of his heat race.

Starting in the sixth row of the star studded feature event, Boespflug continued to stay focused, and fast, as he worked around the Kokomo Speedway, quickly finding himself up front in a battle with Bryan Clauson and Jerry Coons, Jr for the top spot.

In a race that went non stop, Boespflug battled hard, but simply ran out of laps, and closed his weekend out with a third place finish.

“I really don’t know what to say about the last couple of weeks,” Boespflug said. “We have just been really good, and have had a car that is fast from the front or the back. I can’t thank everyone enough.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.
