Boespflug Bags Win No. 3 June 25th

June 25th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Chad Boespflug entertained the crowd at the Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night as a slide-job fest broke out at the front of the pack, and when the double checkered flew, it was Boespflug picking up his third win of the season aboard the storied Paul Hazen No. 57.

“I hope that was as fun for the fans as it was in my seat,” Boespflug said. “AJ Hopkins and I got sliding each other there for a while, and unfortunately we made some contact and he got off the track, but it wasn’t intentional, we had been sliding back and forth for a bunch of laps before that.”

Starting in the second row of his heat race aboard his Physical Medical Consultants/K&N/Weld Wheels entry, Boespflug was able to drive to the heat race win, putting the Hazen machine safely in the inversion.

With the inversion going his way, Boespflug lined up on the front row of the feature event, and when the action went green, he quickly jumped out the front of the pack, with AJ Hopkins right on his tail.

Though the race was marred with cautions, the green flag action was worth it as Boespflug and Hopkins would swap the top spot in each pair of corners with some very exciting slide jobs.

With the track slick, and tacky in spots, it put on a great show, and even in traffic the duo kept up their torrid battle.

As the laps wound down, Hopkins and Boespflug made contact with Hopkins’ machine getting off the track and bringing outa yellow, putting Jerry Coons, Jr on his rear bumper.

When the action picked back up, the battle continued, and as they got in heavy traffic as well, the battle got even more exciting.

On the last lap of the race it looked as if Coons would get the better of Boespflug in dense traffic, but Boespflug was able to make a great move down the back stretch and off of turn four to secure his third win of the season.

“It was a heard fought race, and I can’t thank Paul Hazen for continuing to work hard on his car, and put us in a great position on a weekly basis,” he added.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Boespflug Rocks To Second Win of Season June 18th

June 18th

PETERSEN MEDIA- With Indiana Midget Week invading the Hoosier State, it also brings a week of sprint car action, and Chad Boespflug was in action for three of the four nights picking up a win, and a third place finish.

“After the rough time we had in Pennsylvania it was great to get back to Indiana and win a race right off the bat,” he said.

Finding himself on the pole of the feature event at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN on Thursday night, Boespflug was hard on the throttle in the Hazen No. 57 as he quickly went to the high, scary side.

On the rough and heavy track as a product on Wednesday night rain, Boespflug was a machine on the thick cushion, as stayed glued to it all night en route to his second victory of the 2014 season.

“We earned the pole and our game plan all night was to run the top,” he said. “With most guys using the bottom, I think we could have contended for the win even if we started back a few rows.”

With Hazen having obligations on Friday night, they duo returned to action on Saturday night at the Lawrenceburg Speedway.

Lining up eight in his heat, ‘The Flug’ rallied his way up to a third place finish, putting him in the fourth row of the feature event.

From the seventh starting spot, Boespflug got up into the fourth spot, but as the laps clicked down he was running low on fuel.

A late restart saw Boespflugs machine stumble on take off, and as he tried to nurse his machine to the finish, he ended up getting into the wall, ending his night.

“We were pretty good at Lawrenceburg, and it is a shame we got a DNF,” he explained. “We easily had a Top-Five car but with the track being hammer down, we burnt through a ton of fuel, and I messed up trying to baby it home.”

Sunday night the scene shifted to the always-exciting Kokomo Speedway. Picking up a heat race win, Boespflug lined up for the feature event in the second row.

Running with the lead pack all race long, Boespflug tried all of his tricks trying to grab the top spot, but in the end he crossed the stripe in the third spot, ending his week with a podium run.

“We had a really good week, and I can’t thank Paul and the guys for everything,” he said. “I wish we would not have had that blemish at ‘The Burg’ but those things happen sometimes.”

With it being Midget Week, Boespflug also had the chance to climb back aboard the RAB Racing machine he piloted at the 2014 Chili Bowl.

“I have to thank the RAB Racing guys for the chance to go double-duty over the weekend,” he said. “It was a little rough going from my first time in a midget at the Chili Bowl, to my second time being at rough, and heavy Lawrenceburg. Our goal was seat time for myself, so we were pleased with how things went.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Boespflug Has Roller Coaster Ride Out East June 11th

June 11th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Loading his own nine-eight Motorsports entry up and heading East with the USAC National Sprint Car Series, Chad Boespflug had an up and down trip that saw him experience all kinds of mechanical issues.

“I think it was a product of simply not running my car enough before making a big trip,’ Boespflug said. “It was great meeting so many fans, and getting to those tracks, that it already has me itching to get back next year.”

Motor issues hampered the ‘Hanford Hornet’ the first few nights, with Mother Nature eventually washing out the second night completely,

Saturday night at Port Royal, Boespflug and his team continued to tune on the car with the engine issues behind them, and the end result was some worn out parts.

“I ran my own car at the beginning of the year and we were okay, and then on Sunday we started messing with some suspension stuff, and think we figured out we had some parts that were ready to be swapped out,” he said.

With the Eastern Storm behind him, Boespflug now looks forward to Indiana Midget Week, where he will be a very busy man.

“Indiana Midget Week is a fun week,” he said. “I will have a chance to run a midget a couple of nights, but we will also be in the Paul Hazen No. 57 Sprint Car on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and hopefully we can find a Sprint Car ride for Bloomington on Friday.”

Returning to the seat of the RAB Racing No. 57 midget that he ran at the Chili Bowl last January, Boespflug will mix it up with the country’s best on Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Speedway, and on Sunday at the Kokomo Speedway.

“I am very excited to get back in the seat of the RAB Racing machine,” he added. “We are hoping to work together a little through the summer so we can be even better when it comes to this winter time races.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Chad Boespflug Takes Weekend Momentum To Eastern Storm June 2nd

June 2nd

PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing over the weekend aboard Paul Hazen’s No. 57 machine, Chad Boespflug will take two podium finishes with him as he sets his sights on the Eastern Storm where he will pilot his self owned No. 98 machine.

“Overall we had a really good weekend, and I am hoping the 98 car rolls around as good as Paul’s machine, and we can string together a couple of good runs,” Boespflug said.

Friday night at the I 69 Speedway in Gas City, IN, Boespflug started his three night stretch off by picking up the heat race win, and transferring into the feature event, where he found himself lining up in the third row.

With the track going away as the night went along, Boespflug and his Paul Hazen team decided to tighten to car up to hopefully make some grip, but when the race went green, it was apparent Boespflug and company were a little too tight.

Losing a few positions early in the race, Boespflug searched the speedway looking for ways to get his car around the speedway, but he was unable to rebound and make up any ground as he finished in the 14th spot.

Back at the Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night, “The Hanford Hornet” came out swinging as he charged his way forward from his seventh place starting spot in his heat race, to finish in the second spot, and move to the feature event.

Finding himself on the pole of the feature event, Boespflug got off to a great start, as he led the way at the very racy facility. As he was out in front, the action was heating up behind him, as Casey Shuman moved into second and began pressuring him.

Keeping the lead up front, Boespflug found himself in thick traffic as the laps clicked off.

While battling slower cars, Boespflug got a little loose exiting turn two, and that was all Shuman needed, as  he went on to win, while Boespflug was able to gather his machine back up and finish in the runner up spot.

Sunday night the scene was the Kokomo Speedway,  and after running well the  previous few showings, Boespflug looked to put together an even better night before heading out East.

Finishing fifth in his heat, after timing in fifth fastest, Boespflug lined up in the ninth spot for the feature event.

On the extremely racy surface, Boespflug machine was prepared nearly perfect as he sailed around the speedway picking up spots.

In the fast moving feature event, Boespflug was able to make some daring moves as he crossed the finish line with a season best third place finish at the Kokomo Speedway.

“To finish out weekend with that kind of run at Kokomo was huge,” he said. “We have all been working so hard, and we showed some awesome speed on Saturday and Sunday. I am looking forward to the East Coast trip, and have to thank everyone who has made this possible.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Boespflug Closes Weekend With Kokomo Top-Five May 29th

May 29th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard Paul Hazen’s No. 57 machine for three events over the Memorial Day Weekend, Chad Boespflug had a couple of night’s he would like to forget, but the Plainfield, IN resident closed it off with a fourth place finish at the Kokomo Speedway.

“We had a couple of nights where some things did not go our way, but that is racing, and it was nice to continue to run well against some stiff competition at the Kokomo Speedway.”

Sunday night saw Boespflug time in second fastest in group qualifying aboard Hazen’s Medical Consultants No. 57 machine, putting him on the front row of his heat race.

Powering his way to the heat race win, the Hanford, CA native lined up on the front row of the star-studded feature event. As the race got underway, Boespflug fell to the second spot, as he hung up front with some of the best in the state of Indiana.

With the leaders getting into heavy traffic early, mixed in with yellow flags, it was a very demanding race.

Falling back as far as the fifth spot, Boespflug was able to get around Jerry Coons, Jr late to get back into the fourth spot where he would go on to finish.

“We had a really good car, and it was a blast racing with those guys,” he said. “We were in thick traffic all night so you had to drive cautious, and a couple of times that got me.”

Saturday night at the Josh Burton Memorial at the Lincoln Park Speedway, Boespflug started his night off by charging from ninth to third in his heat race, putting him second overall in passing points.

Finding him self in the second row for the feature event, Boespflug got up over the cushion on the start of the race, and lost several spots as he found himself running in the 10th spot.

Looking to work his way back to the front, Boespflug struggled to find the traction he needed, as he fought his racecar, and wound up finishing back in the 20th spot.

‘We started out our night pretty good, but in the feature I made a mistake, and then we missed it a little and really struggled.”

Friday night at Gas City, Boespflug finished third in heat race action, putting him safely in the feature event, where he would line up in the fifth row.

The feature event started out very well for ‘The Hanford Hornet’ as he had his Paul Hazen tuned machine working well, as he raced his way into the top-five, until his machine slowed with suspension issues.

“It was unfortunate to have shock bolt break on us,” he explained. “We had a really strong car too, and I have to thank everyone for their hard work all weekend long. It was a trying one but we certainly showed we have some speed.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Boespflug Bags Two Top-10’s In Indiana May 21st

May 21st

PETERSEN MEDIA- With rain washing Friday night out across the state of Indiana, Chad Boespflug and his Paul Hazen team saw their weekend shortened to two nights, but they made them count as Boespflug picked up a fourth place finish at Lincoln Park Speedway before a seventh place finish against the always stout Kokomo field.

Lining up on the outside front row of his heat race on Saturday night in Putnamville, IN, Boespflug got off to a great start aboard the Physical Consultants/K&N/Weld Wheels backed machine, and took the win, putting him in the feature event inversion.

Lining up in the second row of the main, Boespflug got off to a sluggish start though he held his spot in fourth.

With the track seemingly ‘coming back’, Boespflug began fighting a tight machine, and wasn’t able to get going, and find the drive he was looking for, as he held on to a fourth place finish.

Sunday night at the Kokomo Speedway, Boespflug timed in second fastest in group qualifying, and lined up on the inside second row of his heat race.

Jumping into the second spot when the green light’s flashed, Boespflug stormed to the lead on the second lap, and never looked back as he picked up the win, and earned a spot in the redraw.

Lining up in the third spot in the feature event, Boespflug held strong in the third spot, as he ripped around the always exciting speedway until the caution flag flew with just a few laps remaining.

Going to the top of the speedway on the restart, a car in front of Boespflug got over the cushion, and sideways causing Boespflug to check up, and in doing so he lost a bit of track position, and found himself in the seventh spot, where he would go on to finish.

“Overall it really was a good weekend for our team,” he said. “We don’t have some of the equipment some of these other teams have, but we certainly make do with what we do have. Paul and everyone works so hard on this deal weekly, and were right there, so hopefully we can pick up some more wins as he keep racing.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Wild Weekend for Boespflug May 6th

May 6th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part of this first three-race weekend of the year, Chad Boespflug and his Paul Hazen team took their lumps, but the team continued to work hard and capped it off with an eight place finish at the Kokomo Speedway on Sunday night.

The weekend got off to a shaky start as their tow vehicle broke down on the way to the Bloomington Speedway on Friday night, and initially told they wouldn’t make it to the show, they were able to get it fixed and make it to the track during engine warm ups.

Getting shocks bolted on, Boepsflug was able to make some hot laps, and lined up last in his heat race, and was able to work his way up to the third spot at the stripe.

Scheduled to start 12th in the feature, Boespflug felt something go south while lining up, and went to work area where they noticed a broken shock bolt. Starting the race in last with the broken bolt, Boespflug returned to work area to get it fixed during the next yellow.

Making a few more pit stops through the night, Boespflug would ultimately score a 16th place finish.

Heading to the Fremont Speedway on Saturday night, the Plainfield, IN resident, started second in his heat race, and won, and lined up for the feature event in the second row.

On the ultra slick surface, Boespflug quickly jumped into the second spot, but as the race went, Boespflug sealed up his tires, and began slowly dropping through the field, and ended up pulling off, and being scored 21st.

Capping their weekend off at the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, IN on Sunday night, Boespflug again had a strong heat race, as he started last and ran fourth to put himself in the feature event.

Lining up in the 14th spot, Boespflug rode the thick Kokomo cushion up to the seventh spot, and in a photo finish with Robert Ballou, he endedup eighth at the stripe.

“It was not really the weekend we were looking to have, but it’s part of the sport,” he said. “Paul Hazen really gave me a fast racecar all three nights, but we had some issues on Friday and Saturday that cost us some good finishes, but it was nice to end the weekend with a Top-10.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Late Race Pass Sees Boespflug Take Home First Win of 2014 April 29th

April 29th

PETERSEN MEDIA- Chad Boespflug will be the first to tell you that he did not think he had a chance to win on Saturday night in Putnamville after the race started, but as the laps clicked off, Boespflug’s car came to him and the Hanford, CA turned Avon, IN resident scored his first win of the season.

“We went green on Saturday night, and I thought we missed it,” he said. “Hats off to Paul Hazen and my guys, this thing was awesome.”

Starting third in his heat, Boespflug got off to a great start as he had his Phsyical Mediacal Consultants/K&N Entry on a rail, as he grabbed the lead, and never looked back as he picked up the win.

Lining up fifth in the feature, Boespflug got stuck on the bottom at the start as the outside row took off, and he began his game of catch up.

Working into the third spot, Boespflug used the cushion as he reeled in the leaders, and was rewarded with a yellow flag. Though he was on second’s rear bumper on the restart, the leader had a two-car cushion.

Getting to second on the restart, race leader, Casey Shuman, was able to get away with his cushion, and as Boespflug got close to him, Boespflug hopped the cushion, giving Shuman breathing room.

Continuing the chase, Boespflug was able to use lapped traffic to his advantage as he made a bold pass coming to the white flag to take the lead that we would not relinquish, as he scored his first win of the season.

Friday night, Boepsflug and Hazen were in action with the USAC National Tour at Gas City.

On a night that didn’t allow for the greatest racing as the track was sticky and fast early, Boespflug’s early struggles put him 18th to start the feature event, and when the race came to a close, he crossed the stripe in the 15th spot.

“It was awesome to get the first win so early in the year,” Boespflug said. “We had a really good summer last year, and hopefully we can do it again together this year.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.

Back And Forth Feature Sees Boespflug Bring Home 11th

April 16, 2014 | PETERSEN MEDIA- Slowly kicking off his 2014 campaign in the Midwest, Hanford, CA native, turned Avon, IN resident, Chad Boespflug and a back and forth feature event Saturday night that ultimately saw him bring own an 11th place finish aboard his self owned, No. 98 machine Saturday night in Putnamville, IN.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Boespflug got the early jump, but a couple laps into the race, the yellow flag waived, bunching the field back up. The ensuing restart, saw Thomas Meseraul sneak by for the lead, and Boespflug would settle for second, putting him in the fifth row for the feature event.

On a track that was a bit rough, Boespflug saddled up, and moved into the fifth position by the fifth lap, as he bounced his Midwest Shades/ButlerBuilt/Creative Finishing entry around the track.

Working on the fourth place car, Boespflug bounced through a hole in turn three that nearly sent his machine on a wild ride, but he was able to get it on all fours, but in doing so got a left rear flat, and brought out the yellow.

‘My guys, Eric Chambers, and Brian Stanfill did a great job in the work area getting me fixed up and back on the track quickly,” Boespflug said.

Restarting from the tail of the field, Boespflug continued to fight, as he worked his way back up to the 10th spot, as the race began it’s home stretch.

In a three car fight for 8th on the last lap, Boespflug got hung up behind a slower car, and was forced to check up, and he slid back to an eleventh place finish.

“It was a much better weekend than our first two nights,” Boespflug said. “We were able to do some testing with our new FK Shock package, and that helped us out a ton. I am looking forward to getting into the Hazen car next weekend and competing with him for his 57th year of racing.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.
