Boespflug Returns Back to His Roots in Cali

Plainfield, IN - Confirmed over the weekend Chad will be returning back to his grass roots of California this Saturday May 23rd. Chad is scheduled to climb behind the wheel of the Cheney Racing #42. For the first time together they will compete in the AMSOIL USAC CRA "Salute to Indy" Event at Perris Auto Speedway.

Chad's last outing at Perris Auto Speedway this past fall earned him the hard charger award at the prestigious Oval Nationals USAC National Series Event. When asked about the opportunity to head "home" back to California where he has had much success prior to relocating to Indiana he replied, "I always look forward to racing back on the west coast any chance I can get. After leaving where I was at, I had heard that Dwight was looking for a driver so I gave him a call. I've kept in contact with Dwight over the years since I've been in Indy on and off. He was just another competitive car owner from back home, but now I have the opportunity to race for him."

Boespflug Becomes Free Agent

Plainfield, IN -  Monday evening Chad made the decision to resign from the Kenny and Margo Baldwin Owned, Baldwin Brothers Racing #5. Numerous factors went into Chad's decision to step away from the team. A few scheduling commitments weren't fulfilled that included appearances to Amsoil USAC National races that sponsors of Chad's were anticipating their participation. Overall the team and owner were not meshing as well as had hoped. When asked about his decision Chad replied, "I am thankful for the opportunities they gave me and for everything they did. Things just weren't working out, and I wasn't having fun anymore, but I wish them the best."

When asked about his future plans Chad replied, "I currently have some ride possibilities, but nothing set in stone. I am open to opportunities for both local races and USAC National races or potential marketing partners for my personal owned NineEight Motorsports #98."

Boespflug 2 for 2 at Lincoln Park Speedway

Plainfield, IN - Three nights of racing were on tap including Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, IN that they hadn't yet competed at as a team, Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN where Chad has had a lot of success in all cars he has driven, and Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, IN where he has some laps with the BBR team from the end of the 2014 season. Chad and the Baldwin Brothers Race Team rebounded well following a tough weekend the week prior.

Friday night at Gas City a deep starting spot in the heat race saw Chad having to fight his way through a tough field of cars to earn a spot in the AMain. Missing the transfer in the heat race by just one position the team regrouped and prepared the car for the BMain. Chad transferred easily out of the BMain and into the AMain where he then lined up 18th. Passing cars using all parts of a narrow race track surface he was able to score a top 10 finish finishing 10th.

Saturday the team returned to Lincoln Park where Chad picked up the win on their last visit. Charging his way to a 2nd place finish in the heat race after starting 5th put him in the inversion for the AMain. The inversion draw was in Chad's favor putting him on the pole for the feature event. Chad got the initial jump taking the early race lead. Stretching his lead to over a straightaway a caution was the last thing he wanted to see. The restart following the yellow didn't go as hoped for Chad as Mitch Wissmiller took over the lead. Following in behind Wissmiller Chad was determined to regain the lead, which he did in just a few laps. He was able to stretch the lead back out to over a straightaway. Maneuvering through lap traffic flawlessly Chad drove the #5 Kenny and Margo Baldwin Owned DRC Chassis to victory lane for the second time this season in only two events at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Moral was high in the BBR pit area coming off the win Saturday headed into the season opener at Kokomo Speedway Sunday. Starting 7th and finishing 4th in the heat race earned Chad a starting spot in the AMain. Chad started 11th and finished 7th in the feature event scoring another top 10 finish to round out the weekend.

Boespflug Gets 1st WIN in the BBR 5

Plainfield, IN Monday April 20th, 2015 - Saturday Night April, 18th at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana proved that determination and teamwork do pay off. Chad was able to score his first win of the 2015 Season as well as his first win in the Kenny and Margo Baldwin owned, #5 Baldwin Brothers Racing Sprint Car.

The new Team merged together at the latter part of the 2014 Season and have competed in a dozen events so far together. Struggling to get the night started off on the right foot has had them playing catch up on multiple occasions resulting in starting deep in the feature fields. That wasn't the case Saturday as Chad and Crew Chief, Fred Click meshed the moment the car hit the track.

Winning the heat race event after starting 3rd put Chad in a position to start within the top 6 positions for the 25 lap A-Main and inside the redraw inversion. Chad lined up 5th behind some tough local competition. He quickly found his way to top side of the racetrack before anyone else moved off the bottom gaining ground quickly on the leader Casey Shuman. Chad took the lead from Shuman passing him on the top just under halfway. Chad then was faced to try different parts of the track as lap traffic was and always is an obstacle at LPS. Holding on to the top spot and conquering lap traffic with Shuman not far behind he was able to park the Baldwin Brothers Racing #5 in Victory Lane.

Starting Off on the Right Foot

Plainfield, IN -March 3rd, 2015 -The past few weeks have been hectic for both Chad and the entire Baldwin Brothers Race Team. Getting back into the swing of things is always an adjustment coming back from the off season. The trip began with an easy ride south headed for warmer weather leaving snow and freezing temperatures behind as the rig pulled out of Lafayette, IN in route to the USAC opener at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.

A month of firsts was in store for Chad as he would compete in Florida for the first time in a sprint car, compete at two new tracks, and most of all start the trek towards his first full USAC Racing Sprint Car Season. Thanks to Kenny and Margo Baldwin, Chad will set out to tackle many new tracks in different states aside from where he has competed in the past few season in Indiana.

Chad competed three nights at Bubba Raceway Park qualifying straight to the AMain all three nights. A couple nights a not so stellar time trial lap landed him a deep starting spot in the AMain. However that didn't seem to hinder his efforts to redeem himself and pass cars when it counted advancing the first night from 17th to 7th to score a top 10 finish. He advanced in the next two nights AMains as well going from 13th to 11th Saturday and 20th to 13th Sunday. After all three events the team had earned a ranking in the top 10 in USAC points as they moved forward to the next stop of the Florida swing.

On to East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, FL where they were scheduled to run three more nights before heading back to Indiana. East Bay saw Chad earning two more top 10 finishes, charging from 20th to 7th Thursday earning the hard charger award and 12th to 10th Friday night, before the final night was cancelled due to rain.

Starting off on the right foot with three top ten finishes out of the five total events leaving Chad and Baldwin Brothers Racing team in the top 10 in USAC points heading into the next race at Lawrenceburg Speedway, Saturday April 4th, 2015.

Without the hard work and dedication put in by all involved the consistent results would not have come. As they head into the next stretch of USAC races they hope is to gain momentum and advance further forward in points and win races. Huge thanks to Fred Click and Drew Ikerd for everything they did to keep the 5 rolling strong all week including the late nights at the car wash and early mornings maintaining the cars.

Chili Bowl Recap 2015

Plainfield, IN - January 23rd, 2015- Chad is headed back to Indiana after spending the week in Tulsa. This was his 2nd year competing in the Chili Bowl Nationals and 4th appearance in the Bill Ecker owned 57 midget. The lack of experience in a midget sure didn't show on Chad's Prelim Night we he locked into the AMain by being in the top 16 in passing points out of 80 competitors.

He had hoped to advance a little more than last year but it seemed more like history repeating itself. Both this year and last he locked into the AMain through the qualifier on his Prelim Night following them both up locking into a CMain for Saturday.

With a stout field of 325+ cars these accomplishment were well deserved by all. Would like to thank Bill Ecker for the opportunity to compete in the Chili Bowl again with him, Steve, Amy, Cade, and everyone that helps make it possible for Chad to race in such a prestigious event.

Hopes is to race some select shows with the at R.A.B Racing 57 midget this year and then return in 2016 back to the Chili Bowl.
