Plainfield, IN - Chad Boespflug had a strong showing with the AMSOIL USAC National series at Bloomington Speedway Friday. A sixth place qualifying run was followed by advancement in heat race competition before a fourth place finish in the AMain. Saturday found the NineEight Motorsports pit area plagued with motor issues throughout the night. A fuel line loose in qualifying put a damper on what appeared to be the better of Boespflug's two qualifying laps followed by an oil line issues in the heat race. The misfortune did not stop there for the 98 Crew. Part failure would end Boespflug's night early while running in a transfer position in the BMain. Motor builder, Jeff Claxton, assessed the issue at the track and ruled the problem in the BMain a broke cam.
"The car felt great at Bloomington all night. I needed to make some different decisions in the main that may not have cost as much track position early, but overall I was happy with the speed we carried all night. We chased our tail most of the night Saturday at Tri-State Speedway with motor issues. Missing the transfer through the heat race I had to race my way through the BMain. Unfortunately a broken cam cut our night short while running 2nd in a transfer position. Claxton went through the motor Sunday, thankfully the broken cam did not cause any further motor damage. I am looking forward to returning to Plymouth Saturday with the AMSOIL USAC National Series Saturday, a track that always produces great racing." - Chad Boespflug
The AMSOIL USAC National Series will return to Plymouth Speedway in Northern Indiana for only their second sprint car appearance Saturday in Plymouth, IN.
