USAC Top 5 for Boespflug at Bloomington

Plainfield, IN -  Chad Boespflug had a strong showing with the AMSOIL USAC National series at Bloomington Speedway Friday. A sixth place qualifying run was followed by advancement in heat race competition before a fourth place finish in the AMain. Saturday found the NineEight Motorsports pit area plagued with motor issues throughout the night. A fuel line loose in qualifying put a damper on what appeared to be the better of Boespflug's two qualifying laps followed by an oil line issues in the heat race. The misfortune did not stop there for the 98 Crew. Part failure would end Boespflug's night early while running in a transfer position in the BMain. Motor builder, Jeff Claxton, assessed the issue at the track and ruled the problem in the BMain a broke cam.

"The car felt great at Bloomington all night. I needed to make some different decisions in the main that may not have cost as much track position early, but overall I was happy with the speed we carried all night. We chased our tail most of the night Saturday at Tri-State Speedway with motor issues. Missing the transfer through the heat race I had to race my way through the BMain. Unfortunately a broken cam cut our night short while running 2nd in a transfer position. Claxton went through the motor Sunday, thankfully the broken cam did not cause any further motor damage. I am looking forward to returning to Plymouth Saturday with the AMSOIL USAC National Series Saturday, a track that always produces great racing." - Chad Boespflug

The AMSOIL USAC National Series will return to Plymouth Speedway in Northern Indiana for only their second sprint car appearance Saturday in Plymouth, IN.

USAC Kicks Off in the Midwest with a Double Header

Plainfield, IN -  Off to a quick start Chad Boespflug set quick time in group qualifying before finishing 2nd in heat race competition during the No Way out 40 at Brownstown Speedway Friday. Pulling off the race track after smoke came from under the hood Boespflug's night was cut short while running 6th in the NWO AMain. The oil filter o-ring pushed out causing quite the mess and potential motor damage. Following the cancellation of Saturday's USAC Event at Montpelier Boespflug made the decision to not race locally Saturday in order to ensure there were no underlying issues following the part failure Friday. The Claxton Engine has been pulled and is being serviced.

"I have faith that Jeff, Owner of Claxton Engines, will go through everything so we do not risk any further damage as we go into this stretch of consecutive USAC events. Since Claxton is located in Indiana that allows me to get motors to him quickly for a fast turn around of service. We will be back ready for two nights with USAC this weekend." - Chad Boespflug

Two nights of AMSOIL USAC National competition are slated for Boespflug and the NineEight Motorsports 98 this weekend. Both events will take place in Southern Indiana making the first stop at Bloomington Speedway Friday where Boespflug was victorious in the spring USAC race in 2017. The current Bloomington Speedway non wing sprint car track record holder looks to enter this weekend with the same speed he found early at Brownstown. This weekends USAC Double Header then travels to Haubstadt, IN for the first of three USAC appearances at Tri-State Speedway in 2018. Saturday will be a co-sanctioned USAC / MSCS event.

Boespflug Seeks Back to Back No Way Out 40 Title

Plainfield, IN -  Weather has taken its toll on the Indiana racing scene so far this Spring. After multiple cancelled races due to weather including the originally scheduled No Way Out 40 that "Snowed" Out in March Chad Boespflug is eager to add additional races to the NineEight Motorsports 98 schedule. Following a 6th place finish this past weekend Boespflug, the defending 2017 No Way Out 40 Winner, will travel south to Brownstown, Indiana Friday April 20th for the $10,000 to Win 10th Anniversary of the NWO 40. Although not a USAC sanctioned event the increased purse and lack of racing so far this season in Indiana is sure to fill the pits with a strong field of cars. Boespflug seeks to go back to back and defend his No Way Out 40 Win from 2017.

The AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car schedule is also set to resume in the Midwest this Saturday April 21st as the series travels to Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, IN.

Be sure to stop by the Chad Boespflug Merchandise Trailer located in the midway behind the main grandstands at both Brownstown Speedway and Montpelier Motor Speedway for the latest CB Apparel. The Newest "Howard Law" Collection Design will be available for the first time at the track beginning Friday.

Boespflug Rounds Out AMSOIL USAC Winter Dirt Games with a Podium Finish

Plainfield, IN - Chad Boespflug leaves Florida after the conclusion of the 9th Annual Winter Dirt Games at Bubba Raceway Park in the Top 5 in AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Standings. Averaging a 6th place finish in the opening 3 nights of the USAC National Schedule with a pair of 8th's and a 3rd place podium finish Boespflug currently sits 4th overall as the series heads to the Midwest.

Struggling early in qualifying put Boespflug behind right off the bat on Night 1, but he rallied back and earned the KSE Racing Products / ProSource Hard Charger award advancing 10 positions finishing 8th after starting 18th. As the weekend progressed so did Boespflug in the NineEight Motorsports Howard Law 98 Maxim. With each night qualifying runs improved which in return made for better starting positions in the mains. Boespflug raced his way to a transfer position each night through heat race competition including earning a heat race win. A 7th place qualifying run the final night of Winter Dirt Games IX put Boespflug in the invert for the main earning him a front row starting position. The initial start of the WDG finale showed the outside line was not the preferred groove on the start, as Boespflug shifted back to 5th. As the race progressed with minimal cautions Boespflug's car began to dig harder and came to him. The NineEight Motorsports 98 gained more speed in the last half of the race as he was able to hold off hard charging competition when pressured from behind to earn his first podium finish of the 2018 season, finishing 3rd.

"Thursday the cautions hurt my runs, but I could have used a few Saturday. Each night the car got better as the race went on and that will pay off throughout the season. Overall I am pleased with the way this Florida trip went, we made gains with the new maxim each time it hit the track. Thankful for all who made the trip to Florida possible. I am proud of what we accomplished and had fun doing it. Now we'll truck back to Indy to get things ready for the start of the Midwest season. " - Chad Boespflug

Boespflug Prepares for the Final USAC National Event in the Midwest

Plainfield, IN -  Coming off a weekend of misfortune the break in the USAC National schedule has allowed Chad Boespflug with the help of Robert Brown, HAR team member, to rebuild for the final USAC National appearance in Indiana in 2017. The rescheduled Tony Hulman Classic is set for this Saturday October 14th at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, IN kicking off with a Fan Pit Party at 3:30pm. Boespflug has finished in the runner up position to Chris Windom the past two USAC race at T.H.A.T. this weekend the plan is to end that bridesmaid streak. Together he and Brown feel they have found the speed the HAR Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser 69 has been lacking and are confident heading into the final stretch of the USAC National schedule.

"I am looking forward to getting back into the Hoffman Auto Racing Mean Green Cleaner & Degreaser 69 Maxim Saturday. We were fast at Terre Haute in September and I think we have made gains in the past month that Robert and I have worked together on, even though the results have not shown. We have had a fast car, but poor qualifying has put us behind going into the features. With the USAC format qualifying is huge, your whole night depends on it. Starting deep and being able to pass through the field shows we have the speed, but we need to put together solid nights these next few weeks as we head into Ovals. Our luck has got to turn around sooner or later, but for now I have to thank my guys that have stuck behind me and keep digging even when were down as a team." - Chad Boespflug

Chad Boespflug's Headed "Home" in the Hoffman Auto Racing Mean Green Cleaner & Degreaser 69

Plainfield, IN -  The 6th Annual Kokomo Speedway Smackdown saw the HAR 69 in trouble multiple nights with no where to go and falling victim of circumstance. Boespflug then had to have to fight his way to a better finish after having to restart at the tail while running in the top 10 two different times. Thursday was the best night all around for Boespflug and the HAR Team finishing just outside of the top 5 in 6th. Another top 10 finish would come again in the Smackdown Finale. After getting caught up in a caution halfway through the 40 lap main event Boespflug found his groove though the middle of turns 1 & 2 and the bottom of turns 3 & 4. Settling in to what he found was the fastest groove for the HAR 69 he races his way from 19th back to 9th when the checkered flag flew.

"Man sometimes I feel like if we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all. It was definitely an up and down Kokomo Smackdown this year. We got caught up in someone elses mess the one night, had mechanical issues in the BMain another, but this Hoffman Auto Racing Mean Green Cleaner & Degreaser Team stuck with us and I made my 6th consecutive Smackdown AMain start Saturday and finished in the top 10, even after having to restart from the tail." - Chad Boespflug

Coming off an up and down four day race weekend at the Baddest Bullring in Indiana Chad Boespflug and the Hoffman Auto Racing Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser Team hard at work in the Indianapolis based shop to prepare for what lies ahead. With just two days to wash, maintaince, and load the trailer before starting their 32 hour trek to Northern California to start USAC/CRA California Sprint Week. California Sprint Week is compiled of 6 races that stretch from wine country to dairy farms and cotton fields as far as you can see. CSW kicks off with the two day 10th Annual Louie Vermeil Classic at Calistoga Speedway in Napa Valley. The mini series will then travel south to Petaluma then back north to Chico before landing at the coast at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA. The final leg of the trip will see Boespflug making a return to his hometown of Hanford, CA to finish out the week of racing. Teams will travel from north to south over 700 miles in 6 days all chasing one thing, the California Sprint Week Title.

"I have been working hard to get this trip put together to take the Hoffman 69 to California Sprint Week and with some added financial support it's now able to happen. Being able to race CSW in a car that I have raced in all year I think is an advantage for sure. The past few years I have been able to race a few hit and miss shows during CSW for other owners and that was tough to adjust and be competitive racing guys that are in their primary cars. I am looking forward to all of the stops that CSW makes, but especially Hanford. Being able to race at "home" in front of so many people who have supported me through the start of my career and that continue to support my racing across the country is special. Most of those fans and family members of mine are not able to make it to Indiana or the midwest to watch me race., so I am excited to end the week there. I have to thank Abreu Vineyards, Fox Paving, HAR, Manvel Motorsports, Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser, and Westin Diversified Services for making this trip possible. - Chad Boespflug
