PETERSEN MEDIA- Loading his own nine-eight Motorsports entry up and heading East with the USAC National Sprint Car Series, Chad Boespflug had an up and down trip that saw him experience all kinds of mechanical issues.
“I think it was a product of simply not running my car enough before making a big trip,’ Boespflug said. “It was great meeting so many fans, and getting to those tracks, that it already has me itching to get back next year.”
Motor issues hampered the ‘Hanford Hornet’ the first few nights, with Mother Nature eventually washing out the second night completely,
Saturday night at Port Royal, Boespflug and his team continued to tune on the car with the engine issues behind them, and the end result was some worn out parts.
“I ran my own car at the beginning of the year and we were okay, and then on Sunday we started messing with some suspension stuff, and think we figured out we had some parts that were ready to be swapped out,” he said.
With the Eastern Storm behind him, Boespflug now looks forward to Indiana Midget Week, where he will be a very busy man.
“Indiana Midget Week is a fun week,” he said. “I will have a chance to run a midget a couple of nights, but we will also be in the Paul Hazen No. 57 Sprint Car on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and hopefully we can find a Sprint Car ride for Bloomington on Friday.”
Returning to the seat of the RAB Racing No. 57 midget that he ran at the Chili Bowl last January, Boespflug will mix it up with the country’s best on Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Speedway, and on Sunday at the Kokomo Speedway.
“I am very excited to get back in the seat of the RAB Racing machine,” he added. “We are hoping to work together a little through the summer so we can be even better when it comes to this winter time races.”
Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.
