Chad Boespflug Takes Weekend Momentum To Eastern Storm June 2nd

June 2nd

PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing over the weekend aboard Paul Hazen’s No. 57 machine, Chad Boespflug will take two podium finishes with him as he sets his sights on the Eastern Storm where he will pilot his self owned No. 98 machine.

“Overall we had a really good weekend, and I am hoping the 98 car rolls around as good as Paul’s machine, and we can string together a couple of good runs,” Boespflug said.

Friday night at the I 69 Speedway in Gas City, IN, Boespflug started his three night stretch off by picking up the heat race win, and transferring into the feature event, where he found himself lining up in the third row.

With the track going away as the night went along, Boespflug and his Paul Hazen team decided to tighten to car up to hopefully make some grip, but when the race went green, it was apparent Boespflug and company were a little too tight.

Losing a few positions early in the race, Boespflug searched the speedway looking for ways to get his car around the speedway, but he was unable to rebound and make up any ground as he finished in the 14th spot.

Back at the Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night, “The Hanford Hornet” came out swinging as he charged his way forward from his seventh place starting spot in his heat race, to finish in the second spot, and move to the feature event.

Finding himself on the pole of the feature event, Boespflug got off to a great start, as he led the way at the very racy facility. As he was out in front, the action was heating up behind him, as Casey Shuman moved into second and began pressuring him.

Keeping the lead up front, Boespflug found himself in thick traffic as the laps clicked off.

While battling slower cars, Boespflug got a little loose exiting turn two, and that was all Shuman needed, as  he went on to win, while Boespflug was able to gather his machine back up and finish in the runner up spot.

Sunday night the scene was the Kokomo Speedway,  and after running well the  previous few showings, Boespflug looked to put together an even better night before heading out East.

Finishing fifth in his heat, after timing in fifth fastest, Boespflug lined up in the ninth spot for the feature event.

On the extremely racy surface, Boespflug machine was prepared nearly perfect as he sailed around the speedway picking up spots.

In the fast moving feature event, Boespflug was able to make some daring moves as he crossed the finish line with a season best third place finish at the Kokomo Speedway.

“To finish out weekend with that kind of run at Kokomo was huge,” he said. “We have all been working so hard, and we showed some awesome speed on Saturday and Sunday. I am looking forward to the East Coast trip, and have to thank everyone who has made this possible.”

Chad would like to thank Midwest Shades, ButlerBuilt, Creative Finishing, Bell Helmets, Hinchman, Wilwood, Shaw’s Vintage Stuff, Bud’s Auto Sales, Physical Medical Consultants, K&N, and Weld Wheels for their support.
