A Pair of Top 5's for Boespflug

Plainfield, IN - Wednesday September 9th, 2015- A less intense weekend of racing for Chad and the Amati Racing Team than USAC competition, but non the less still a strong field of cars at both local events they attended. Almost 40 cars filled the pits on Saturday night for the King of Non Wings show at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. Over a full field of cars was also in attendance on Sunday at Tri State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.

Fast right out of the gate Chad had a strong car in his heat race. Jumping out to the early heat race lead after sliding fellow racer AJ Hopkins in turn 4 for the lead on the first lap. Chad went on to lead all 8 laps of the heat race after starting 4th.  A pill draw inversion lined up the feature event following heat race competition. Chad started 5th behind veteran racer Shane Cottle who also had a strong car in his heat race. Cottle was fast again in the feature event taking the early race lead. Chad worked his way to the runner up spot tailing Cottle by just a few car lengths. Restarts were Chad's chance to try and pass Cottle as both cars were running fast in the same groove. On a late race restart Chad did just that tried to slide Cottle entering turn 1 and 2 and gained the lead down the back stretch but the following corner was the reverse as Cottle came out on top taking the lead back over. An intense battle between the two remained throughout the final laps of the race. Cottle had just a little more to hold off Chad who finished 2nd.

Following the strong run at Lincoln Park Speedway Chad and the Amati Racing Team headed south to southern Indiana's Tri State Speedway for MSCS competition. MSCS uses a passing points system throughout the night to line up the races. Chad started 7th in his heat race that some would quickly assume that to be a great starting position with passing points. Some times a deep starting spot is good and sometimes its bad. Starting deep in a heat race filled with heavy competition isn't always the best option, passing points or not. Chad passed his way up to 4th place finish in his heat race, but came up just shy of the top spots in passing points that would redraw for starting position in that feature. Missing the redraw the remainder of the field was lined up according to accumulated passing points. Chad earned an 8th place starting position being 8th overall in passing points following heat race competition. Chad would go on to finish 5th in the feature event scoring his second top 5 finish of the weekend.

Chad will be back in action in the Amati Racing 66 this upcoming weekend for the final points race at Lincoln Park Speedway. Chad will enter the race second in points trailing the current points leader by 11 points. Chad and the Amati Racing Team head into Saturday's final points night with the main focus being on winning the race with the points championship on the back burner. However taking over the points lead is very achievable as points are awarded for showing up, heat race wins, and finishing positions in the feature event.
