Boespflug's Schedule is Heating Up

Plainfield, IN - This past Saturday the Amsoil USAC National tour made its inaugural trip to Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, IN.  It was Chad Boespflug's first time to the track as well. Boespflug timed 9th quick in ProSource Qualifying out of 25 cars making the heat race inversion. Boespflug battled lap after lap swapping positions with Chase Stockon for the second spot. The two raced hard but clean for 8 laps. Stockon edged Boespflug at the line to steal second, Boespflug finished third in the heat. A strong run and a good time trial lined him up 9th for the AMain. The car was not as good in the feature. Chad slipped back to 13th early and was not able to regain any track position and finished 13th.

"We were not as good when the track slicked off. They reworked the track right before the feature and I thought we would be better. I fell back early and couldn't catch a break. When I would get a run cars in front of me might have had a bad corner making it harder to pass. We will take this time off and get ready for the two day show at Eldora when USAC returns." - Chad Boespflug

This week marks the start of Chad's local racing season with SST Motorsports. A series of 25-30 races to be competed across Indiana. The Physical Medicine Consultants #41 will make its season start at Bloomington Speedway Friday to kick off a busy three race weekend. Although we've deemed these "local" races on the schedule that doesn't me they will be a cake walk. Local racing in Indiana fields some of the toughest non wing sprint car competitors, especially when the USAC national series is off. Such is the case for this weekends events. Large car counts and named drivers will be mingled in the list of competitors across Indiana.

Boespflug will make his second trip to Bloomington with hopes of better results than his first outing there. Although he will be piloting a different car he can take what he learned from the USAC show a few weeks back into Friday night.

Saturday Boespflug will return to what has become his Indiana home track. Traveling west just 30 minutes from his Plainfield, IN based shop to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. He has had much success at LPS in the past three seasons picking up over 10 wins, 1 even in the Stensland 41 their first race together in 2013.

"Putnamville has been good to me. I've won quite a few races there over the past few years and hope to
continue to have success. I enjoy racing there and Joe Spiker does a great job working to make not only the track surface better each night, but the facility as well. Spiker, a fellow racer himself, knows that it has to be a great experience for the fans too not just the drivers." - Boespflug expresses his feelings on his return to LPS.

Sunday's trip to Kokomo Speedway will round out the three race weekend. The $2,500 to win King of Kokomo race will be the tracks opening night primary event. Historically Sunday's at Kokomo are filled with exciting side by side racing throughout the entire show. So would say its the best non wing sprint car racing you will see all year. Despite it once again being labeled local racing the level of competition on any given Sunday is as stout as it comes. Boespflug has yet to make the trip to victory lane at the historic facility although coming close on many occasions.

"I am looking forward to getting started with the Stensland's and SST Motorsports. We have a busy weekend ahead of us as we enter the heart of the season. Racing three nights a week is tough, but thankfully these are close to come." - says Boespflug when asked about the upcoming weekend.
